Transition Day letter for parents 2017

Dear Parent/Carer
Re: Sixth Form Transition Day 2017
It was great to see so many students at the transition day on Monday 3 July. The transition day was very successful and students
engaged effectively with the programme. The Summer Tasks for every subject have also been uploaded to the school website
and students need to complete these in time for their first lesson.
The Sixth Form handbook is currently being updated and will be shared on the school website as well as with students when they
start in September.

Dear Parent/CarerI write to inform you that pupils will be dismissed from 11.00am on the last day of term, Wednesday 19 July 2017. It has been agreed that this day will be a non-uniform day with pupils paying at least a £1.00 donation for this privilege. The School Council met recently and voted that this year the money raised will be split between the Grenfell Tower Disaster Fund and our own Hardship Fund, which helps towards the running of the Breakfast Club amongst other worthy causes in school.

This half term, as part of our Sex and Relationships programme we will be covering a range of topics during Citizenship lessons. We feel this should include frank and open discussion on issues from which some parents may wish their children to be exempt on religious grounds. Equally, some parents may wish to take the responsibility for this area of their children’s education.

These examinations will commence on Monday 19th June, before finishing at lunchtime on Friday 23rd June. Along with other assessments and tests that your son has conducted this academic year, these examinations play an important role in deciding which sets and groups your son will be in next year, and I hope that your son’s preparation for them will reflect the importance they deserve.
