Today the Year 9 band and Dravko performed at Bush Hill Park Primary School in front of a baying crowd of primary students across all year groups. The sun shone, the music rocked and the reception of the staff, guests and students was amazing.
The event was part of a careers aspirations day arrange by our very own Governor, Paul Riddel, in his role as Chair of the Enfield Caribbean Association who do great work in and for our local community.
For Zdravko Danilov this was a homecoming gig and a chance to wow his former peers, which he did. He opened the concert with piano renditions of All Of Me by John Legend (Ddravko’s own arrangement) and Fur Elise by Beethoven, as is his versatility!
The Year 9 band, consisting of Ahmed Ibrahim, Josh Emsley, Miles Barnett-John, Freddie Pickles and Ben Rebario, performed a full set – a truly remarkable feat for students of such a young age. The ability to turn up and perform with such professional attitudes and musical standard is testimony to the amazing work our peripatetic staff put in with the extra-curricular ensembles, producing serious top-class musicians.
I would like to thank Bush Hill Park Primary for hosting such an amazing day and hosting us so warmly and a special thank you to Paul for the great work he does for our boys and the local community.
We left the school with chants from the audience (and staff!) for a third set, living up to the mantra ‘Leave them wanting more… not less’.
