Dear Year 11,
We have reached your final year! You are over halfway through your GCSE courses and the year group has made a great effort to ensure that they are progressing. There is a good work ethic amongst the year group which I am proud of. We need to keep the good attitude and focus towards our goal; getting the best exam results as a group.
This year there will be a few aspects of school life that we need to focus on as a year and as individuals. We need to focus on further developing the Careers and Study Skills program; there will be a Welcome to Sixth Form Day in November, we are planning to have a GCSE Skills Day and we aim to have various speakers from Careers and Universities talking to the year group. There will also be a range of coursework and after school clubs available so that you can progress further in any subject that you feel you need extra help with. (Please see the coursework club timetable below). The role of the form tutor has become more prominent this year, allowing your form tutor to know you better as individuals and to assist you with any pressing issues. Also, Year 11 have made a great start hosting the first ever Interhouse Charity events where the houses will compete to raise money for charity. Finally, preparations for the Yearbook, DVD Yearbook and Prom have begun. Hopefully we will have a lot to celebrate in the summer.
I am here to support you in creating the best learning environment and to help with other aspects of school life. Together, we need to ensure that we achieve our goal.
Good luck Year 11!
Ms A Dakin
